About the bean:

In Uganda, many smallholder farmers rely on coffee for their livelihoods but face challenges like poor quality, low crop quality and limited access to markets. In 2023, Kawacom Uganda Ltd partnered with USAID to implement the Uganda Smallholder Livelihoods Initiative, aiming to improve the livelihoods of coffee farmers.

The project connected 10,800 new farmers to export markets and assisted them in achieving Organic and rainforest Alliance certifications. The initiative helped increase export volumes, boost income and improved the quality of coffee, providing farmers with better market access for sustainable farming practices.

The Sipi Falls microlot was and outstanding and unique lot whose quality merited it being used for single origin roasting.
