About the bean:

Maira Gomez grew up surrounded by coffee plants in Intibuca, Honduras. From an early age, she was involved in her parents' farm developing both a deep knowledge of coffee cultivation and a drive to create her own path. After finishing school, she used her savings to purchase a small plot of land in San Miguelito. Years later she was offered a management position in a local coffee cooperative.

Today, Maira and her family cultivate 2.8 hectares in the mountains of Opalaca, western Honduras. She is committed not only to producing exceptional coffee but also to fostering positive change and responsibility. As a member of the indigenous Lenca community,  she has championed equality and education for over 13 years, with a particular focus on empowering women in the region.

Her work is closely linked to Becamo's GEA program, an initiative supporting coffee produced exclusively by women. In 2018, she and her husband established the coffee mill Beneficio de Café San Miguel, further enhancing quality and processing in the area. 

This lot has an aroma of apple cider, strawberry and cocoa. Flavours of berry pastry, tropical punch and roasted almods with an appled cider aftertaste. Medium high crisp acidity and medium high body
