Maragogipe is a variety of Arabica coffee, also known as "elephant coffee beans". It is believed taht this coffee is a spontaneous mutation of Typica coffee that occurred in Maragogipe, Bahia in Brazil. This is a very large size coffee bean in comparison to other Arabica coffee beans with a screen size of 18+
Hacienda Montecristo has been a celebrated coffee estate since 1916, renowned for its exceptional beans that have earned both national and international accolades. Nestled in the fertile Mayan Mountains of Copán, Honduras, at altitudes of 1,100 to1,200 meters, the farm thrives in a mild subtropical climate where coffee is cultivated to perfection, yielding a balanced body, rich flavor, enticing aroma, and medium acidity.
Spanning 279.52 hectares just 15 kilometers from Santa Rosa de Copán, Hacienda Montecristo treats coffee as a precious jewel. The farm employs eco-friendly practices, meticulously monitoring the coffee through the milling and drying process. With a steadfast commitment to quality and sustainability, they aim to increase production in the future while maintaining their high standards.
This lot has an intense and complex aroma, elegant acidity, creamy textures and wild flavours. The cup profile shifts from tropical fruits of pineapple and red apple through to the sweet finish of brown sugar and cranberry.
